Matrix Employee Spotlight: Ravienne

At Matrix Construction Services, our team members play an important role in supporting projects from every angle. For this Employee Spotlight, we sat down with Ravienne, a Project Administrator who has been with Matrix since May 2021, to learn more about her role, what she has learned, and what she enjoys outside of work.

What is your role at Matrix?

I am a Project Administrator. My role involves reviewing job costs, improving reporting processes, creating dashboards and trackers, and helping our construction and accounting teams better understand project performance. I also assist with project coordination, purchasing, scheduling, change orders, and communication with clients and vendors.

How long have you worked at Matrix?

I have worked at Matrix since May 2021.

What do you like about your job?

I enjoy solving problems and finding ways to make our processes more organized and efficient. I also like that my position allows me to work with several different departments. I get to see how the operational, construction, and accounting sides of the business connect while creating tools that help make everyone’s job a little easier.

Are there any skills or things you’ve learned at Matrix since you joined?

Since joining Matrix, I have strengthened my skills in job-cost analysis, reporting, project coordination, and construction operations. I have also gained a better understanding of Sage, Liberty Reports, JCA and JCV reporting, WIP analysis, purchasing, and change-order management. One of the biggest things I have learned is how important accurate job coding and cost tracking are when it comes to understanding the true financial performance of a project.

Was there any job or task you’ve done at Matrix that is particularly notable?

One of my most notable projects has been improving our Job Cost Analysis process. I have worked on developing reusable Excel dashboards that bring information from several reports into one organized view. These tools allow us to review costs by job, unit, cost category, and vendor, identify budget issues, and better understand where a project made or lost money. I am proud that this work can support future projects and help improve decision-making across the company.

What do you like to do in your free time? Any hobbies or activities you enjoy?

Most of my free time revolves around my kids and their school activities, but I also enjoy reading and completing home-improvement projects. This year, I have updated my kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room, including countertops, paint, lighting, and tile. I have also installed new flooring and tile throughout my home and completed several backyard upgrades. I enjoy seeing a project come together and creating spaces that feel more functional and inviting for my family.
