At Matrix Construction Services, we believe in recognizing the hard work and dedication of our team members. Today, we are excited to introduce and celebrate one of our newer employees, Jonathon! He’s been a vital part of our team for the past 8 months, serving as a Project Administrator and leading Procurement and Inventory Management for our Austin and Houston locations.
Jonathon’s Expertise and Educational Background
Jonathon comes to Matrix with a strong educational background, having earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Technical Theatre/Theatre Design and Technology from Texas State University. While his degree may seem unique in the construction field, the skills he honed in technical theater—such as precise project management, resource coordination, and budgeting—translate perfectly to his current role. In his position, Jonathon is responsible for estimating pricing, gathering vendor quotes, and ensuring our warehouse inventory runs like a well-oiled machine. His meticulous approach to Procurement and Inventory Management helps keep our operations efficient, ensuring that every project has the resources it needs to succeed.
Taste for Theater and Broadway
Beyond his work with Matrix, Jonathon’s passion for theater shines through. His all-time favorite movie is the 2001 musical masterpiece Moulin Rouge!, a film known for its vibrant sets, powerful performances, and rich storytelling. Jonathon is no stranger to the live theater experience either—he’s had the opportunity to see incredible Broadway shows, including Something Rotten and Jersey Boys. His love for the performing arts brings a creative edge to his work, and his attention to detail reflects the same precision found in top-tier theatrical productions.
The Fun Side
While Jonathon is incredibly dedicated to his role at Matrix, he’s also known for his lighthearted and fun personality. If you ever caught him stranded on a deserted island, there’s a good chance you’d find him making friends with a Wilson volleyball, just like in the iconic movie Cast Away. His good-natured humor and ability to stay positive in any situation make him a joy to work with.

His expertise in procurement, inventory management, and his ability to adapt his theatrical background to construction management has been a valuable asset to the team.
