We connected with Dallas to learn more about his role, what he has learned along the way, and what drives him in pre-construction.
What is your role at Matrix?
I’m the Director of Pre-Construction. I support our teams and clients by developing estimates, guiding project direction early on, and helping set projects up for success before they reach the field.
How long have you worked at Matrix?
I’ve been with Matrix for five years.
What do you like about your job?
I enjoy taking care of people. In my role, that means supporting our clients by making their jobs easier and being a true partner in helping them reach their goals. Internally, I value being able to prevent and solve problems for our teammates by using the skills I’ve developed here at Matrix.
Are there any skills or things you’ve learned at Matrix since you’ve joined?
There are too many to list, but estimating stands out the most. I learned nearly everything I know about estimating here, and that foundation continues to shape how I approach projects today.
Was there any job or task you’ve done at Matrix that is particularly notable?
Several large fire reconstruction projects stand out. Not only because of their size, but because I was often the first person on-site for the client after emergency responders. It was meaningful to guide those projects from initial board up through delivering rent ready units. Being involved at every step provided experience that continues to inform how I support projects now.
What do you like to do in your free time? Any hobbies or activities you enjoy?
I enjoy spending time with my family and working on projects around the house. I also like collecting sports cards and diving into the details of the hobby.
